Locating Inmates at Cook County Jail

It appears that the Cook County Department of Corrections’ website is up and running so now you can locate individuals housed at Cook County Jail, without calling jail records,  by going to the following website:

or when not using the County’s ethernet, try

What purpose does that website serve? If people are inmates at the prison, surely there is some sort of paper trail as to how they got there. It’s not like they’re missing.

    Joe:

When Public Defenders need to visit with clients at the jail, we need to know which of 14 separate buildings to go to. Our jail here houses about 10,000 pre trial detainees and is spread over a huge complex. Inmates are moved from time to time. Hence the need for an up to date website.
