We received our retro checks today and we will continue to pursue the interest on the delay. We have been told that our pay increase that is effective after the first full pay period after June 1, 2008 will be reflected in our paychecks that we will recieve on June 27, 2008.

Don’t get too excoted, all non-union employees also got their retro checks and will get their COLAs on 6/27. Has the union ever gotten interest on delayed COLAs before? With bank interest rates so low, what rate are we talking about? After taxes, it could literaly be $5-10 per member.

Wrong Stephen. ASAs got nothing.

Really, then why were ASA’s and GALs in the Juvenile Division opening retro checks in court today?
June 24th, 2008
I am not a math person…shocking! How do I know if the check is correct?
June 25th, 2008
Stephen, I called out to Juvenile and confirmed that ASAs did NOT get retros, however,
everyone else did. Sign me-

ASA X
Call your timekeeper. The County printed them already. They should have been delivered to your timekeeper.

Stephen, I would be interested in knowing your thoughts on the salary reflected in your most recent pay stub– assuming you are an AFSCME LOCAL 3315 member.
June 27th, 2008
I take it you must be “ASA X”
Kulmeet, Can you be more specific?
June 27th, 2008
Did you get paid more this last paycheck, and if so, by what percentage?
June 27th, 2008
What is this some type of quiz? Or is it just Big Brother watching? Sounds a little un PD like.
2.75% minus the increase for health care contribution which, for me, was only a few dollars more. Not last paycheck. Today’s paycheck.

Un PD Like? My client has gone from assuming that none of us are “real” lawyers to assuming that all PD’s are robots on autopilot…imagine that ladies and gentleman.

Michelle:
Why the need to bash our clients? Sounds a bit condescending?
June 29th, 2008
Stephen: Yes, it’s a quiz and you failed. Local 3315 members got what we negotiated at the bargaining table - an AFSCME pay plan IN ADDITION to the wage increases. The quiz shows that you are not a member of our local. You are a probably a non-unionized county worker. As the American Express commercial says, membership has its rewards. In the event you are a member, pick up the phone and call your steward or one of the board members and we will see why you just aren’t getting it.

It’s an inside joke……Stephen is not my client. Those who know me personally and follow this blog understand what I’m poking fun at…an it’s not a “real” client. But I will respect your wishes and keep the underground jokes underground.
Thanks for posting/sharing!!!
